The Achamore Gardens were Created by Colonel Sir James Horlick who got helped by Gardener Kitty Lloyd Jones in 1944. Achamore Gardens is the home of Horlick’s renowned Rhododendron and Camellia Collection. Flourishing in Gigha’s warm microclimate, the 54-acre Gardens hosts many notable and unusual plants and trees from around the world. They also have; New Zealand tree ferns, Hydrangeas and Fuchsias which do complement the walled gardens with its tender exotics, herbaceous borders and also its Bamboo Maze.

The Achamore Gardens are run by the Achamore Gardens Trust which was established in 2017. The gardens have stunning views across the water to the islands of Islay and Jura.
