Alnwick Castle in Northumberland

Calling all aspiring wizards! Come along and visit the magnificent Alnwick Castle, as seen as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films! The castle is the second largest inhabited castle in the UK and in the past has served as a military outpost, teaching college, refuge for evacuees, a film set, and a family home! Come along on your next day out and take a plunge into the fascinating history and travel through the centuries of this ever evolving castle and its heritage!

Having made an appearance as Hogwarts in the first two Harry Potter films, the castle has also appeared in fan favourites such as Downton Abbey, Transformers: The Last Knight, Elizabeth, an Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, it is clear to see that Alnwick Castle is no stranger when it comes to welcoming film crews!

Alnwick Castle is not only a popular tourist attraction, but has been home to the Percy Family for over 700 years! Currently it remains as a family home to the 12th Duke and Duchess and their four children.

With a variety of different events hosted by Alnwick Castle, from war re-enactments to Harry Potter tours, there is always something exciting to check out at the castle for every visitor!
