Looking to learn a little bit more about the city of Aberdeen? Aberdeen art gallery was opened in 1883 and was extended in the 1920s. The gallery has a long history of art pieces that spans over 700 hundred years. If you are wanting to learn more about the history of the city they provided many walking tours where you will get a chance to see all the artwork and get their history of them. If you can’t make it in person to the art gallery you can take a virtual tour that is 2 and a half hours long where you can individually select art pieces in the building and hear an audio description of what they are for free!

The gallery has undergone a redevelopment that took from 2015 to 2019 so the inside has been all redone. the gallery has a large selection of art ranging from sculptures, paintings and exhibitions. The gallery is known for holding exhibitions frequently where you will be transported to a different time, location and even view. the gallery also can host performances and events such as jazz festivals.
