Visit the gateway to the Galloway Forest Park at Kirroughtree visitor centre! Where you can explore miles of trails by foot or on a mountain bike, with something for everyone! The visitor centre sports a fine café where you can fuel yourself for a pleasant walk through the forest, or for cycling action on one of the many mountain bike trails. Kirroughtree has everything from pleasant greens for beginners to long, technical and arduous black routes that’ll test the legs and lungs of seasoned riders.
How can I explore the Galloway Forest Park?
If cycling isn’t your thing you could take a walk out to the wild watch hide where you can view red squirrels and roe deer, or pack your rods and buy a fishing permit from any of the visitor centres for Loch Braden, Loch Dee, Black Loch, Spectacle Loch, or Garwachie further in the park.
