Bring Harry Potter to Life with Warner Bros Studio Tour

Calling all Harry Potter enthusiasts, film lovers and the curious alike – we have an amazing activity for your stack. Discover the filmmaking magic that went into creating the world-famous Harry Potter films at the Warner Bros Studios! See the iconic sets, costumes and props that brought the film to life and learn fascinating behind the scenes secrets, as you explore the wonders of the wizarding world and follow in the footsteps of Harry Potter and friends on this award winning tour.

Where can I see Harry Potter filming locations?

Many of the iconic scenes from Harry Potter, including the Great Hall, Forbidden Forest and more were filmed using sets in the Warner Bros Studio in Leavesden. You can now see these sets, and a whole lot more, in a tour of the studios! The studio is just 20 miles north-west from London, off the M1 and M25. Regular shuttle buses also run from Watford junction directly to the studio, which you can get to from London Euston via a 20 minute train journey.

This experience will be an unforgettable experience for all visitors, Potter fans or not! Leavesden was the home of Harry Potter filming for over ten years, and when filming for the final entry to the series finished in 2010, the production crew left behind and preserved this treasure trove of thousands of beautiful, intricately made sets, props and costumes. This is a unique opportunity to see the artistic genius that went into creating everyone’s favourite wizard!

Sets you’ll see on the tour include the Great Hall, an iconic backdrop where all the houses would gather to count points and for dinner throughout the first six films. Walk through the Forbidden Forest, where you can admire Aragrog’s dark lair and you can get up close and personal with his terrifying full-size model, as well as an abundance of other incredibly crafted creatures designed by this OSCAR award winning team. Get a look at the Hogwarts Express that provided the background for the first scene in the Philosopher’s Stone and the closing moments for the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Stroll through Diagon Alley, the location that set the scene for the famous moment where Harry’s wand choose him.

Discover the props and costumes that lined the world of Harry Potter and immerse yourself in their magic – see the hundreds of memory vials that were hidden inside Dumbledore’s office, the iconic moving pictures and plates of Dolores Umbridge’s office and the Puking Pastilles of Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, including the 20-foot mannequin that took 3 months to build, and of course, the Quidditch costumes including the uniform Harry wore in his first game against Slytherin!

These are only some of the spectacular things you’ll be able to see on your Warner Bros Studio trip – from special effects to creature creation and the art department, there’s plenty more filming magic to be seen. Book your tickets now for an unforgettable experience!
