Butterfly Creek – Beautiful Zoo with an amazing Butterfly House!

Butterfly Creek is home to one of the largest tropical butterfly houses in New Zealand. Their butterflies are imported as pupae from butterfly farms all around the world, but primarily from Asia and Central America. The butterfly house is temperature controlled to approximately 28 degrees celsius and has high humidity to replicate the conditions of the butterflies’ natural environment. Inside the tropical butterfly house you’ll also find, finches, water dragons and variety of fish.

If you’re feeling like seeing some fish Butterfly Creek also features an Aquarium – The Butterfly Creek aquarium includes a selection of tropical & fresh-water fish and a marine coral aquaria – both teeming with a variety of fascinating fish.
