Cahir Castle in County Tipperary

Built in the 13th Century, Cahir Castle was the stronghold for the Butler Family who, for several centuries, were powerful members of the Lordship of Ireland and the Kingdom of Ireland. The design was cutting edge and remained unconquerable until 1599, when it fell to the Earl of Essex under heavy artillery fire. Standing proudly on the banks of the River Suir, this beautiful location is ideal for a stroll with family or friends.
