Vampires have existed in media for a very long time, but before there were heartthrobs like Edward from Twilight and Angel from Buffy there was Dracula! Experience the unique history of this bloodthirsty fiend at the Dracula Experience in Whitby. Whitby is known for being a seaside town filled with goths and that’s for good reason. In 1897 author Bram Stoker wrote his gothic classic Dracula in Whitby. This led to the town becoming synonymous with Dracula leading to many tourist ventures based on Dracula popping up all around the town. None of these attractions is as famous as The Dracula Experience – and for good reason.

Where is the Dracula Experience?

The Dracula Experience is in Whitby, a short walk from Whitby Bridge and Whitby Beach.

The Dracula Experience is what you may call a horror attraction, you walk through the attraction as the story of Dracula is presented to you via visual effects, live actors and animatronics. walk Through 8 unique scenes which are taken straight from the Dracula novel and tell the story in a unique and entertaining way. After you’ve been through the whole experience head on down to the gift shop to buy Dracula-themed apparel, mugs and souvenirs

The Dracula Experience has been a resident of this property for over 15 years, it has wonderful character and upon entering there is an undeniable creepy feeling that overcomes you. Their website states that many paranormal experiences have been experienced by employees of this establishment – so keep an eye out for anything strange, it could be a ghost!
