Where can I see animals in Dundee?
There’s a wonderful world of animals waiting at Camperdown Wildlife Centre – see the majestic wolves prowling their grounds, glowing snowy owls and all kinds of reptiles. Don’t miss the massive brown bears at the fantastic Bear Broch Visitor Centre, where the impressive beasts roam the grounds of a replica ancient Scottish dwelling. You’ll be able to hear Camperdown’s noisiest residents, the Lion-tail macaques and Lar Gibbons, both classed as vulnerable species.
The generally flat terrain makes the walk nice and relaxing, as well as provides good wheelchair access. You can easily spend 2-3 hours at the centre, watching the cute otters swim in their pool or the meerkats pop out of their burrows.
Perfect for anyone of all ages, small or large groups and families with young children there is something for everyone here as you wander through the centre. With facilities such as free adult wheelchair use and assistance dog boarding, anyone is welcome. Stop off at the cafe or make use of the picnic area and get yourself a souvenir from the shop to remember your trip to the Wildlife Centre. You can also plan a great birthday party for your children, who can spend some time in the Learning Room before seeing all the animals.
