Come and see the fairytale castle of your dreams!
Tucked away between the historical beach trees of Fforest Fawr is Castell Coch, or the ‘Red Castle’. It was built by architect William Burges for the third Marquess of Bute over 700 years ago. The grandeur and spectacle of this castles exterior is like something from a fantasy novel – just you wait until you see what’s inside! The interiors are dripping in luxury and opulence, a key feature of the High Victorian era. At its heart, it still shows signs of its roots as a 13th century castle (owned by Marcher lord Gilbert de Clare), but since then has been draped in fine furnishings and artwork. Well worth a trip to this vision of high fantasy!
