Castle Ward in County Down

For all of the fantasy lovers out there who would like to immerse themselves in the world of Game of Thrones, visitors of Castle Ward can step onto the set of Winterfell and explore the famous keep! The Castle, farm yard and surrounding landscape acted as the set for the famous Winterfell Castle as well as the whispering wood, Robb Stark’s Camp, and more! Castle Ward is now a museum that is open to the public, but before it was an internationally known movie set and museum, it used to be a family home for over several hundred years! Come and discover how it went from a family house to the bustling tourist attraction it is today!

The castle is famous for having a “split personality”, as the castle’s aesthetic changes from gothic on one side to classical on the other. It is believed that this was the result of a marital disagreement, but maybe there is more waiting to be uncovered about the secrets of these curious design choices.
