Charity Skydiving in Coleraine

Ever wanted to try skydiving? Now’s your chance with Moonjumper’s tandem skydive. Using a dual harness, the student exits the aircraft at 10,000ft attached to the instructor. You freefall for 7000ft at which point the instructor opens the canopy and steers you both to the ground. All parachutes have a reserve parachute which means that if one does not work, the other one does. These are inspected and repacked every 6 months by a BPA qualified instructor whether they have been used or not. The reserved parachute seldom has to be used because of the high technology nowadays of the main parachute.

What if you’re afraid of heights?

Most people are afraid of heights. They experience vertigo if they stand on a high ladder or the edge of a building. This is because they are able to have a feeling of depth. They will not experience the same type of fear from 10,000 feet. It is like racing a motorbike at 100mph, heading towards the wall of a building. You do not experience the same fear if the bike racing at 100mph and the building is 3 miles away! Most people are anxious before their first jump but that feeling is soon replaced by exhilaration once they jump out of the plane!

Moonjumper International was founded in February 2001. Operating throughout mainland UK and Ireland, volunteers are asked to pay a £40 commitment fee payable to Moonjumper, then raise a minimum of £380 per person (not to include the £40 commitment fee) by donation from sponsors from work, family, friends, and social gatherings. The course fee is deducted from the amount and all the remaining monies will benefit the chosen charity fund. Skydiving will be an experience you will remember for the rest of your life.

  • Once you arrive, you will be giving a ground briefing covering the equipment, exiting the aircraft, freefall and landing
  • You will jump from 10000 feet in the air. Your freefall would be at a speed of 200 km/hr. Tandem students will fall for about 60 seconds
  • The tandem parachute jump is completely safe
  • Professional cameramen are available to capture your unforgettable moments
