Why visit Cobbaton combat collection?

If you’re looking for an educational day out where you can learn about history then this is a must-do activity when in Devon!

The third building has displays of civilian life during the 1939/1945 period, also ARP (Air Raid Precautions), Home Guard and Red Cross. This is one man’s private collection that has grown over the years – finally opening to the public as a museum in 1981 – and is still being added to today. It shows the vehicles complete in their battle-ready state, some of them the result of painstaking restoration.

The collection’s shop stocks militaria, collectors’ items, clothing and headgear, inert ammunition, toys and souvenirs. The seasonally staffed NAAFI wagon serves hot and cold drinks and snacks.
