The museum is located near the town of Athlone in Co Westmeath/Roscommon, which can be reached via regular bus and rail links, from Limerick, Galway and Dublin.

The musuem houses 7500 artefacts including, Tradesmans tools, Horse drawn machinery, laundry equipment, and radio gramaphones. The musuem caters to large groups and tours, including school tours and group tours from Dublin. The museum was founded by Charlie Finneran, who grew up on the same site, discovering a love for these sorts of artefacts at a young age.
