What is Natureland?

Natureland is a registered charity that was founded back in 2013 to take over the operations of Natureland Zoo during its time of need. Natur Land is a non-profit organisation and aims to act as a community hub that connects people, animals, and places!

Natureland is the city of Nelson’s go-to zoo and wildlife conservation centre where you can get hands-on with a wide range of fascinating domestic animals. If you would like to learn more about some of the animals at the zoo then why not check out some of the keeper talks that are available daily at the zoo!

The vision of Natureland Wildlife Trust is to become a community-driven conservation organization. They take pride in being a safe, affordable, and accessible place for visitors to engage with and have interactions with animals and bring the wildlife into Nelson. The zoo hopes that the venue can be a platform for not just work, but to also share stories with the public about all of the great work that people around the country are doing to play their part in saving wildlife!

Visitors are able to get up close and personal with some of New Zealand’s unique native animals such as Tuatara and Kea, as well as other popular species including the likes of Rabbits, Capuchin Monkeys, Lemurs, Farm animals, Porcupines, Meerkats and loads more!
