Calling all history lovers! Are you looking to experience a day out like no other, and one that you will be sure to never forget? Or do you just want to take in all of the relaxing country air that Co Wicklow has to offer? If either of these sounds like you, then make sure to visit the fantastic Kilruddery House on your next day off!
Originally, it is thought that the land was owned and occupied by the local Gaelic Aristocracy. However, during the Norman Conquest, the land was taken by Nicholas De La Felde. Interestingly, this was leased to the Abbey of St Thomas and it included a large proportion of the area. There was even a burial ground, rural retreat and a chapel all built by and for the monks. This is only an insight into the history here. So, why not make your way down to Kilruddery and take it all in!
