Originally built in 1871 by William Larnach, for his wife Eliza.

Where can I find Larnach Castle and Gardens?

The castle is located in the town of Dunedin, near Sandfly Bay and the Dunedin Volcano. Public transport is available to and from Dunedin and Christchurch.

This castle was built by over 200 people, over the course of three years. It has been embellished inside with fantastically designed interiors, inspired by European Craftsmen, interestingly this took place over a further 12 years. The castle is now privately owned, a conservation project has been set up over the years, and admission fees help with the restorations in the castle. So, what are you waiting for?
