For lovers of beautiful victorian parks, when in Glasgow you should visit Pollok Country Park. This Park has a unique importance to all of the city’s inhabitants, including wildlife. The park is steeped in history, with a focus on rural history. Which is an interesting insight into what is now the City’s largest park. The park was originally part of the old Pollok estate and was home to the Maxwell family.

How do I get to Pollok Country Park?

From Glasgow city centre, you can catch the train to Pollokshaws from Queen street station. The park is less than a 20-minute walk from there.

The park also obtained a green flag award in 2016 and has been retained by the park for a number of years. The green flag award showcases the park’s absolute highest quality of park standards and green spaces. The park has an array of activities to do and sights to see. With the likes of wildlife gardens, picnic areas, highland cattle, walled gardens and an old stable courtyard and sawmill.
