The Holaa has a quiet rural location and the lush vegetation along the riverside as well as the rich bird life is joy to watch. Iceland has some of the best brown trout and arctic char fishing to be found in the world. The fresh water fishing season in Iceland starts in April on several sea trout & brown trout rivers as well as a few lakes. The main brown trout & arctic char season starts in May and ends in mid-September. The Holaa river is beautifully surrounded and the arctic char and brown trout are of all sizes, with the most common size range from 1lbs up to 2lbs.
