They have trains dating all the way from 1929 to 1959 with histories of their own. While some ran along this same railway line in their day, others come from as far away as Edinburgh, making for an interesting and diverse collection of rolling stock. Started up by a dedicated and enthusiastic team 15 years ago, the Helston railway is a passion project painstakingly restored over the years to get to where they are today. Whilst they’ve had too close to visitors over lockdown, their passionate team of volunteers have been working hard to open up more of the original Helston line and make their railway experience even better!

Visit their beautifully restored railway carriage for hot and cold drinks, light lunches and snacks, including gluten-free options and their locally-sourced acclaimed bacon rolls! Their gift shop is not only stocked with great souvenirs and second-hand books, but also with a wonderful collection of pre-loved Thomas The Tank engine toys for children to enjoy.
