International Antarctic Centre In Christchurch

There are so many activities to enjoy at the centre that it’s hard to know where to begin! Visit the Storm Dome which is a section designed to give you the experience of being in an antarctic storm at minus eight degrees celsius with winds of minus eighteen degrees celsius provided by the wind chill machine. At the centre, you will also get the chance to visit some of the Little Blue Penguins and get to watch them swim, eat and have fun. Take part in the Hägglund field trip which is an all-purpose vehicle that can drive through any terrain, feel what it would have been like for scientists in Antarctica to travel across the ice and more in this amazing vehicle.
