Kirkcaldy Galleries first opened its doors in 2013 when Fife council went ahead with a huge £2.5 million refurbishment. Visitors will be spoilt for choice – the centre has many interesting things on-site, like a library, a museum, an art gallery, local & family history room, a café, a gift shop and and space for children to play! All in the one place, with no admission fee.

The art gallery houses the 2nd largest collection of paintings by the iconic William McTaggart and Samuel Peploe (a key Scottish Colourist painter) in the world, second only to the National Galleries of Scotland. Featured on the ground floor is an award-winning exhibition covering Kirkcaldy’s history, ranging from 300 million ago to the modern day!
