Kitesurf Scotland is Scotland’s leading Kitesurfing school and is run by Grant Clayton and his dedicated team of instructors. Kitesurfing harnesses the power of the wind through a large parachute-type kite to propel a surfer across the water on a small surfboard or a kiteboard (similar to a wakeboard). Unlike surfing, kitesurfing does not require waves, just the wind – so in Scotland, there is a good chance that box is ticked. The Kitesurf Scotland team include one Junior British champion and the other ranked 3rd in the British pro men’s category. A one-day kitesurfing course is available for £130 which includes safety gear and a 5mm wetsuit.

Where can I learn to Kitesurf in Scotland?

Kitesurf Scotland offers a kitesurfing course at Troon which is a great place for beginners to learn how to kitesurf!

Troon has been voted as one of the best beaches for kitesurfing by Red Bull and is only a 40-minute drive from Glasgow. Kitesurf Scotland uses the latest gear and is Scotland’s sole supplier of Airush Kiteboarding & Shinn equipment. They also have a huge range of demo kites that you can try before you buy.

If you’re looking for other activities to fill your time here, why not head to the Kilmarnock golf course and squeeze in a game and grab some lunch at the club? Or if you’re looking for something to do with the whole family, head over to the Fullarton Fairy trail in and explore this beautiful woodland park with just a touch of magic thrown in.
