Why should I visit the Laphroaig Distillery in Islay?

The Laphroaig Distillery offers tours of the facility to its visitors! On the tour, visitors can see the ins and outs of how the Distillery functions as well as get a chance to taste some of the products! There is also a distillery shop found at the facility where guests can take home a little piece of their trip home with them!

The tour on offer at Laphroaig Distillery is the Warehouse 1 Tasting tour! On this tour, visitors can join the team at the distillery’s warehouse 1, found next to the shore, and taste whiskey from three different casks! After getting a taste from the casks, visitors can then choose which one they preferred and hand fill their own 250ml bottle to take home with them!

After visitors are finished with the tour, the team of staff will make sure there is space in the visitor centre for guests to come in and check out the distillery’s shop and see some of the other products on offer.

The distillery is not yet able to reopen its whisky production area to the public, so the experience will take place entirely in the warehouse. Due to safety reasons amidst the covid pandemic, the experience has been altered and changed from normal to make sure all visitors and staff are safe!

  • Tour is approximately 1-hour long
  • 1-4 guests per booking
  • For all available tour dates please visit the distillery’s website for more information
  • Shop is available at the distillery
