Giddy-up! Have you ever wanted to try horse riding? Now’s your chance! Established in 1948, North Lizard Riding School is one of the longest-running riding schools in Tyneside. They are a friendly, fun, family-run yard that is able to offer expert tuition to both beginner and advanced riders. Their main aim is to help you improve your skills to whatever level you wish to achieve. Their horses and ponies are well trained and you’ll never be paired with a horse that you don’t feel comfortable with. This truly is the ideal place to catch up with some fresh air, wildlife, fabulous coastal views and unspoilt quality time with your four-legged friend!

Is there an age limit for horse-riding at North Lizard Riding School?

There is a minimum age limit of 2.5 years old, however, there is no maximum age limit! No need for nerves; the excellent staff will put you at ease and ensure you have an enjoyable, fun and memorable experience. Remember everyone has to start somewhere and you are never too old to begin horse riding! As long as you are fit and able to get on a horse, you can give it a try.

Whether you’ve never ridden a horse before, or you’re an old hand in the saddle, North Lizard Riding School offers a relaxed environment to aid your progressions through riding. They offer lessons 7 days a week, including some evenings. They have a variety of carefully selected horses and ponies providing a range of sizes, types and temperaments to suit anyone. Ideal for a birthday party or stag/hen do with a difference! They can accommodate for groups of 6 to 12 people for 30-minute or 60-minute long parties. If riding isn’t for you, then you can support your friends in comfort from the heated indoor viewing area.
