Where can I find gardens in Birmingham?

There's no better place for a relaxing trip out than Birmingham's most loved gardens, the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Only 2 miles from the city centre, the botanical gardens makes for a perfect family day out.

There’s over 15 acres of green paradise, a perfect place for keen wildlife lovers. You’ll find a variety of places to explore at the gardens, from glasshouses filled with all kinds of plant-life from near and far that you can explore all year round, to sprawling meadows and shrubbery that are perfect for a stroll during the summer months. The glasshouses host over 1000 species of plants, with a fantastic collection of tropical, sub-tropical, Mediterranean and a Butterfly house with species hailing from as far as the Philippines and Africa. The buildings and monuments date back as far as 1850, such as the the garden’s emblem the fountain and the stunning palm house. While you’re here, you can’t miss the National Bonsai collection too! If you’ve brought the kids along, they can enjoy themselves at the adventure playground and discovery garden. Stop for a coffee or tea at the Pavilion tea room for a drink and some tasty food, and if you’re a gardener yourself, stop by the garden centre for a fantastic selection of fruit, veg and plants to grow at home.
