The Forest of Marston vale is the perfect place to take the family to enjoy nature. The Forest is 61 square miles, and surrounded by the stunning countryside of Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire – explore the spectacular views as you walk around the winding paths around the lakes and woodlands. The Forest is home to 13 unique woodlands, all are free to access on foot or by bike. Kids will love exploring the nature, and can take part in a number of activities to entertain them while they are out on their woodland adventure!
The Forest of Marston Vale is not just any forest, it has a unique story to tell. It is one of 12 community forests in the UK dedicated to helping the area recover from the effects of industries in the 90s with the goal of planting more trees and using woodlands to make life better for people and wildlife.
Climate change is the biggest global threat to people and wildlife. When it comes to fighting global warming, trees have emerged as one of the most popular ways of doing this. The country would be in an even worse-off position had organisations like Marston Vale and other community forests in England did not exist. Every tree that they plant in the Forest of Marston Vale helps, so come and support the forest and do your bit in fighting climate change!
The Lakeside Café serves an array of meals, snacks and drinks and as the Forest Centre is open 362 days a year, there is always somewhere to stop off and refresh after a walk or bike ride, including our outdoor play area.
