At Huka Honey Hive, they offer interactive and personalised honey tours, where visitors are introduced to all things honey and bees. From educating visitors about the vital role bees play in our world, to maintaining sustainable business practices, they are committed to the welfare of every bee. Both indoor and outdoor, the guided tours take you through the beautiful gardens, introduce you to the busy bees and provide the opportunity to try a huge range of premium New Zealand honey, mead and honey-based skin care products.

Where can I visit a bee hive experience in New Zealand?

Huka Honey brings you a unique taste experience with free honey, mead & liqueur tastings located close to Huka Falls and just 8 minutes out of Taupō.
In summer they have around 40,000 bees in the observation glass beehive. In winter, the queen bee stops laying eggs and all drones are kicked out. the beehive numbers may drop to around 20,000. The remaining bees hibernate. Come in summer and enjoy an ice cream whilst exploring our lush garden, filled with native fauna and bee-friendly flowers. In wintertime, sit by the roaring fire, sipping on your hot coffee, tea or lemon honey drink.
