What is Founders Heritage Park?

Founders Heritage Park is a village made up of character buildings that are set in beautiful gardens. Visitors can explore displays of Nelson’s heritage and learn the stories of the local people!

There is no shortage of things to do at Founders Heritage Park! Some of the most popular attractions include:

Riding the village train! Visitors can enjoy the experience of a railway that provides all of the wonder and joy of the Nelson to Glenhope line. The Train runs from 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Adult tickets cost $5 and child tickets cost $3.

Exploring the village gardens! Visitors can enjoy a light walk around the beautiful gardens admiring the stunning scenery. Why not even bring along a picnic for you and the family or do a bit of bird spotting in the lake!

Grab a bite at the Founders Cafe! The cafe is the perfect place to unwind in, located in the leafy courtyard of the village, while the little ones enjoy a world of fun in the nearby playpark! Enjoy some of the locally brewed Nelson craft beers and wines alongside your lunch!
