The short but steep walk from the public car park in Newton-Under-Roseberry can be completed by anyone with a basic level of fitness in around half an hour and when you finally reach the top the spectacular views make you feel like you are standing on the roof of the world. While many visitors come to conquer the hill, there’s plenty more to do besides with a fantastic array of habitats to discover. Explore bluebell woods, heather moorland, the open expanses of Roseberry Common and a long abandoned quarry.
