Horse Riding at Edenside Stables in St Andrews

If you’re looking to learn how to ride horses in St Andrews, then don’t look any further! Established over 35 years ago by Raymond Gatherum, the Edenside Stables are a great place to visit if you’d like to try riding for the first time, or if you’re an expert rider. Everyone is welcome!

Where can I find the Edenside Stables?

Edenside Stables is located between Guardbridge and St Andrews, just off the A91. Their lessons are all on-site and are a great place to meet their horses and learn to ride!

During his time at the stables, Raymond has trained many competitive showjumpers to great success (his son, Alistair Gatherum, has competed at the Grand Prix level and also trains prospective riders). His wealth of experience is sure to be of use if you’re looking to improve your riding skills, or simply if you’re intimidated by the experience and would like some extra assistance.

They’ll cater for a variety of events, from competitions and corporate events to kids’ birthday parties! If you’re looking for something more thorough, they offer lessons with passionate and experienced trainers suitable for all skill levels.

  • Group Lessons (45 minutes): £20 per person
  • Private Lessons (30 minutes): £30 per person
  • Semi-Private Lessons (45 minutes): £25 per person
  • Private Lessons with Aileen Reed (30 minutes): £35 per person
  • The minimum age is 5 years old
  • Please wear suitable footwear (no trainers or open-toed shoes)
