Go and pay a visit to Felin Uchaf and take a look at the incredible work being done by the local community in this lovely area of Gwynedd. Reconnect with nature in the charming, hand-crafted roundhouse B&B, attend one of their events or learn some new skills in one of their volunteering programmes.

Why go to Gwynedd?

Gwynedd is home to extensive wildlife and culture. Felin Uchaf is a centre that combines those two features in a wonderful community centre with a great range of programmes and events for you to get involved with.

This non-profit organisation has been running since 2004 with the aim of furthering the world wide folk school movement and helping to stimulate green businesses. The eco-centre is located in the heart of the Lyn Peninsula, home to extensive natural beauty and a proud and warm community of Welsh speakers.

You’ll be welcomed by a friendly team of volunteers working at their projects. Have a look in the craft shop and support the local economy with some beautiful hand-made gifts, furniture, garden materials or fresh green vegetables. The centre hosts a fantastic programme of short courses and workshops, such as making your own baskets and birdfeeders. Get your hands dirty and volunteer in the garden, a great way to meet new people, have fun and learn something new. If you’re staying in the area, you can combine your visit with a stay in one of their thatched roundhouses or meadow cabin, two simple and cosy hideaways offering spectacular views to enjoy by the fire.
