Mountain Biking Coast to Coast in Scotland

Calling all adventure lovers! Are you looking for the ultimate guided adventure? Have you ever through about exploring the incredible Scottish Wilderness by bike? Then sign up for a Wilderness Scotland Coast to Coast Mountain Biking expedition and have the time of your life!

On day one you’ll meet your guide in Aberdeen and head off along the old railway line through the gorgeous forests of Royal Deeside, ticking off 75km before arriving for your nights stay in the quaint village of Ballater.

Leaving Ballater behind on day two you’ll head along the River Muick and up onto the shoulder of the infamous mountain of Lochnagar before dropping into the trails around the historic Balmoral estate. In the afternoon you’ll continue on, heading even further on to the mountain village of Tomintoul, the highest village in the entire Highlands.

On the third day of your two wheeled adventure will take you out into the Cairngorms, a colossal mountain region chock full of challenging backcountry riding that will spit you out with sore legs and an unforgettable experience in the Speyside village of Newtonmore.

Next up you’ll bridge the gap between the east and west highlands, traveling through Laggan and the rugger landscape before ending the day in the lovely village of Spean Bridge. Day four features 70km and 720 metres of ascent!

Day five is a belter, featuring a cracking cycle through the lower half of the great glen way before hoping onto a private boat tour of the absolutely spectacular Loch Shiel with refreshments provided.

On day six you’ll follow the stunning coastline trail down to the most westerly point in the UK mainland, Ardnamurchan point. This is an absolutely unforgettable way to finish up the trip and will leave you suitably content after six days in the saddle.

The final day features a leisurely return to Inverness.
