Mountain Biking in the Central Highlands

Looking for some of the UK’s best ‘big mountain’ trails? Then get on your bike and head to Laggan Wolftrax and sample more then twenty miles of purpose built trails throughout the Scottish Highlands. Heading out from the trail centre in Laggan Forest and into the Monadhliath hills follow miles of trails that range from easy going greens to incredibly technical blacks. Start off with the shallow three mile green route to warm up the legs on its gentle climb and flowing descent before moving on to something more challenging. The red route is eight miles of awesome narrow single track, with famous rocky features such as the Rib Rattler (a steep rock drop and descent) and Air’s Rock, a black graded rock slab. Finally, if you’re truly ready to test your mettle you can take on the infamously tricky four mile long black route, claimed to be the most technical piece of single track mountain biking in Scotland! Committing and dangerous, this route certainly isn’t for the faint hearted.
