Overtoun Estate in Dunbartonshire

Overtoun House is a perfect starting point for exploring this scenic area and the Kilpatrick Hills, with its fascinating amount of Crags, Woods and Moors. From here, you can also head up to the massive Lang Craigs to see beautiful views of the House, and the River Clyde.

How can I find Overtoun House?

The House is located close to the Milton Bus Stop and the town of Dunbarton, which is serviced via bus and train links to and from Glasgow.

This house is an example of the unique Scottish Baronial architecture and was built in the 1860s. Although, it was donated back to the people of Dunbartonshire in 1938. With this, the building has had a fascinating life, being used as a maternity hospital and a Christian centre, and at the moment it remains a Category A listed building. Entry to the site is currently free, and visitors can avail of their Circular path walkway to take in all of the beautiful scenery that the area has to offer. So what are you waiting for? This fascinating castle will provide you with one of the best days out possible!
