Stand up paddleboarding is a new activity that is sweeping the nation that was born from surfing, it is when you stand on your board in the water and use a paddle to propel yourselves through!

Where can you try stand up paddle boarding in Northern Ireland?

If you visit Strangford Lough Activity Centre in Killinchy you can do a 2-hour session of paddleboarding!

If you have never done this before then Strangford Lough Activity Centre will be a great place to do it as it is located in a secluded beautiful area that has numerous bays and monuments as well. Each session that you book is 2 hours long and with group sizes managing to reach up to 15 people this will be a perfect thing to do on a quick break with all of your friends.

There is not an official age restriction however they do recommend it for people aged 10 and over due to the weather and the wind and if you book for 4 or more people it only costs £35 per person for the full 2 hours. If you want to try something unique and up and coming then you have to try out SUP.

On their website, they also provide some glamping accommodation and so if you really want to live in nature and forget the world around you. They also provide other activities; Archery, Boat Tours, Bushcraft, Canoeing, Kayaking, Wet Bouldering, Team Building, Laser Tag, Orienteering, Environmental Education and Hill Walking!
