The Alnwick Garden hosts the small but deadly Poison Garden! The garden is filled with over 100 toxic, intoxicating and narcotic plants! Kept behind sturdy black iron gates, the garden is only open during guided tours to ensure everyone’s safety!

Each visitor is strictly forbidden from touching, smelling, and tasting the plants in the Poison Garden. Visitors should be wary that occasionally, some guests have felt lightheaded and sometimes even fainted from breathing in the fumes of the plants in the garden. This experience is not for the faint of heart!

The dedicated tour guides ensure the safety of every visitor by making sure no one gets too close to the plants within the garden. As dangerous as the plants may be, don’t let it put you off of the beauty of each plant species in the garden!
