The Routeburn track is a stunning 2-3 day hike starting from one of 2 locations, either The Divide which is just off the Milford road or the Routeburn Shelter which is near Glenorchy. On the Routeburn Track you will depart from Queenstown at 8am, you will either travel by bus or car along the stunning Glenorchy road for around 25 kilometres until you reach the Routeburn Shelter which then at around 9:30am you will be on your way to the magnificent sights. The total distance you will cover on this hike is around 33 kilometres, there is 3 huts on your travels to stop and explore the beauty each one has to offer, you can head in either direction as it is a point to point hike rather than a loop.

The Routeburn track is perfect for anyone with a good level of fitness and a little bit of hiking experience, you will come across some steep sections on the hike, the highest point of the hike will reach a breath taking 4200 feet. The stand out point of the hike is most definitely the The Routeburn Falls Hut, with it’s impressive positioning looking over the Routburn Valley and the nearby Humboldt Mountains. The Routeburn track is available from October 1st all the way through to April the 30th.
