Scrambling Adventures in the Lake District

Since its inception in 2012, CRAGS ADVENTURES has been ranked the No.1 canyoning business in the entire United Kingdom by our clients on TripAdvisor. We specialise in canyoning and ghyll scrambling and are one of the few UK firms with both a “canyoning specific” guiding and a “canyoning specific” rescue accreditation.

Why should I go to Crags Adventures?

Whether you want to struggle your way up or abseil, leap, and slide your way down a gorge, you'll have a great time and be safe with Crags Adventures.

In a world where some firms still do not supply a wetsuit, they give our clients with suits that are three times thicker than the majority of those who do. They have a variety of ghyll scrambling and canyoning spots to select from, including some special to their firm.

From the age of 12, the activity programme caters to the fittest and able individuals. Every youngster under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their OWN parent or LEGAL guardian. They organise events for couples, small groups of friends, and families; And constantly adjust the activities to the needs of the group, and above all,  make certain that you leave with memories that will last a lifetime.

Scrambling Ghyll

This is, without a doubt, the most popular activity, and it’s simple to understand why. Climbing waterfalls and plunging into magnificent pools of pure, clear alpine water are truly unforgettable experiences. It’s a terrific method to cleanse your mind.

Ghyll Stickle

This ghyll is in Langdale and boasts excellent views. It entails climbing waterfalls and ascending the gorge. There are a couple of tiny leaps as well. In typical conditions, this area is the least aquatic of the ghyll scrambles. Most group sizes and abilities are accommodated.

  • Maximum of 2 people per activity
  • 2-3 hours cost £60 per activity and person (Mountain Scrambling however costs £70)
  • Full day 5-6 hours ranges from £80 – £125 per activity and person
