Why should I visit the Southport Pier in Merseyside?

Not only is the pier located 22 miles from the beautiful Southport coast but it also boasts the title of being the oldest iron pier in the country, standing for over 150 years!

A walk to the end of the Southport Pier will give any visitors access to incredible views across the North West and on a clear day they can even spot the neighbouring Blackpool and the coast of North Wales!

There are 1000 metres of Southport Pier, making it the second-largest pier in the country!

For those who struggle with the walk to the end of the pier, there is a pier tram that will take you straight to the end where visitors can grab a cup of tea in the pier pavilion and soak up the scenes of the surrounding views!

For the visitors who came to visit for a more traditional experience, Silcocks Funland, which can be found at the pier entrance, has a wide variety of amusements including the famous ‘Golden Gallopers’ carousel on the pier forecourt, entertainment indoors and you can also grab a traditional fish and chips!
