Spitfire Flying in Essex

Are you looking for a flying experience like no other, or perhaps the ultimate activity to add to your bucket list, then head over to Aero Legends who will give you the chance to take the controls of an iconic Spitfire fighter plane, for a once in the lifetime flying experience.

There are approximately 60 Spitfires still flying, while Aero Legends operate two of these. Both aircraft have been converted to the Vickers Supermarine dual control, two-seat design.  This gives you the full Spitfire experience, with the unique roar of the 1000hp Merlin engines and excellent visibility over the famous elliptical wings, as you look down on famous RAF landmarks such as Headcorn Aerodrome, Kent (RAF Lashenden 1943 – 1945) or North Weald Airfield, Essex (RAF North Weald 1916 – 1964).

Where can I experience flying a Spitfire?

At Aero, Legends operate two dual-control two-seat WWII Spitfires and offer a range of flying experience packages.

You will be in safe hands!  Across their pilot roster, they have over 3,000 hours of flying time in Spitfires and a total of over 60,000 hours flying.  They also offer flying experiences in Tiger Moths and maintain three of these aircraft. The RAF found the Tiger Moth’s handling ideal for training future fighter pilots.

Aero Legends operate from Headcorn Aerodrome, which is about 12 miles from Maidstone, and North Weald Airfield, which is 6 miles from Harlow (shown on the map below).  As the UK’s leading heritage flying company, for a unique flying experience add ‘Aero Legends’ to your Stack.
