Where can I find the fishing lodge?

Breiðdalsvík is a tiny village with a population of 139! Just set your sat nav from wherever you are in Iceland, whether that be Reykjavík or elsewhere to the location on the map below and drive carefully alternatively you can get in touch with Strengir and they may help you to arrange transport.

The Angling Service Strengir is one of Iceland’s leading sporting outfitters (offering hunting as well!) They manage the rivers Breiðdalsá, Jökla, Hrútafjardará, Fögruhlíðará and Minnivallalækur, which are also well worth a visit. They offer stunning top-of-the-range lodges with en-suite rooms and you are given free entry to a lovely sauna and their outdoor hot tubs from which you get a glorious view back over the valley, so you can stay in any of these locations in absolute comfort. Whilst also conserving the area by actively keeping stock of the indigenous fish in the river which has been increasing with the habitat improvements. There are also different pools and characteristics so anglers can choose different levels of challenge while fishing in each pool. Their Happy angler store is very close to the lodge on the famous Cliff Pool.

The Icelandic summer is generally mild but since the weather can be very changeable, anglers should bring warm, waterproof and windproof clothes with them. They are no mosquitoes in Iceland.

The skilled team of Angling Service Strengir guides provide all transport in comfortable 4wd cars and are always there to assist you when needed. Often one guide for every two rods is provided during fishing.
