Temple Springs Fishery is a place where novice and infrequent fishermen may go to learn how to fish. Youth groups, parties, families, and business events are all catered for. Our spring-fed lakes are located just outside Garvagh, a historic market town 12 miles south of Coleraine.

Why should I go to Temple Springs Fishery in County Londonderry?

Templesprings Fishery is unusual in that it caters to those who want to benefit from a fishing experience but find it difficult to get started or find larger fisheries daunting. When you come, you will have the entire facility to yourself, as well as all tackle and bait.

The two lakes are supplied by the old Tober Aine springs and are expanded through dams from the 1800s. The springs are said to have medicinal properties and were formerly utilised to supply water to Garvagh and Kilrea in the 1960s.

The surrounding vegetation and wildlife offer lots of bug life for the fish as well as a visual feast for fishermen. The views are breathtaking, stretching from Garvagh Forest in the west to Corky Mountain in the east and Slemish in the east. Temple Springs is a venue that can accommodate up to 12 anglers and four supervisors. If necessary, an induction can be given.

For each visit, the lakes are fully replenished. They’re tiny, shallow, and rather safe. If you believe one day isn’t enough, there’s a fishing lodge with restrooms, a kitchen, a lounge, and even lodging.
