The Baked Bean Museum in Port Talbot

Come and witness this viral sensation for yourself! The Baked Bean Museum is the product of a life long dedication to the humble baked bean. Owned and operated by Captain Beany (also known as Barry Kirk), who earned that title in 1986 after getting a world record for sitting naked in a bathtub of baked beans for 100 hours. Now before you ask, Captain Beany is not a nickname – he legally had his name changed in 1991. He’s a fascinating man/superhero, having raised over £100,000 for charity through various runs and events.

The museum itself is actually located in Captain Beany’s two bedroom flat, with every corner and crevice packed full of baked bean memorabilia. It’s truly a sight to behold, with it proudly holding the title of the world’s only baked bean museum! It’s attracted attention from all over, with it being featured many times on TV, online, newspapers, radio, you name it! It’s bound to be an experience you won’t forget anytime soon.
