The Bluecoat is one of Liverpool’s oldest buildings and home to its contemporary arts centre. Located in the heart of the city in a beautifully maintained 300-year-old Grade I-listed building, the Bluecoat calls itself a ‘home for artists’. It offers an interesting range of seasonal exhibitions and events, covering art, literature, music, and dance from all around the world. There’s sure to be something for everyone! These also include an award-winning programme for families and children, so it’s the perfect place for a family trip. The gallery boasts a famously lovely garden (which is open all year round) as well as a selection of independent shops and retailers to browse at your leisure. Their stock ranges from vintage clothes to intricate handmade gifts, so be sure to check them out!
