The Jane Austen Centre is the perfect place to get to know Bath’s most famous resident and learn about how this lovely city inspired her and her writing. You will be taken on a journey by costumed guides through the centre where you can learn about the legendary author, taste some Regency food, write with a quill pen, and take a picture with a waxwork of Jane.

Where can I find the Jane Austen Centre?

In the heart of Bath, a short walk from the centre and near the picturesque Royal Crescent you'll find the Jane Austen Centre on Gay Street.

The centre is a great place to visit if you’re in the city and fancy learning a bit more about the city and Jane Austen.

Some facts about Jane Austen

Jane Austen’s work was published anonymously her whole life as it was seen improper for a lay to be an author at the time. Thankfully, her family made sure she was credited after her death.
Jane Austen wrote six novels in total with two of them being published after her death.
Jane Austen brewed her own “spruce beer” as a speciality.
