The Leeds Donkey Sanctuary

If you or the kids want to get up close and personal with these heartwarming animals then Leeds Donkey Sanctuary is the perfect place to spend a few hours. You’ll be able to go round with a member of staff who will take you to places the donkeys live and tell you all about the animals in their herd. And if you’re lackey enough one of them will come over and want a stroke. Don’t worry they’re very friendly!

Where can I go and see Donkeys in Yorkshire?

With a herd of cute donkeys, the Leeds Donkey Sanctuary is a great place to meet, touch, and learn about these beautiful animals.

Entry is free but, by making a donation you’ll be supporting the animals and supporting their health and other donkeys in the future. Also, you can adopt a donkey for £3 a month so if you fall in love with one of them you can support them in that way!

It is a charity so go along and show your support and also get to see some furry friends!

Female donkeys are known as jennies and male donkeys are known as jacks.
There are 189 breeds of donkeys in the world!
Donkeys are very strong and can pull something nearly half their body weight!
