Where is the Living Rainforest UK?

From London is Bristol, leave the M4 at Junction 13 and follow the signs leading to the attraction. You can also take the train to Newbury, which runs an occasional bus service to Water Street which is about a 20 minute walk away from the Living Rainforest.

Rainforests are believed to contain a whopping half of all species of plants and animals on the Earth! At the Living Rainforest, you can get a glimpse of it, being home to over 850 species of rainforest plants and animals, where you’ll get a fantastic opportunity to see rare and endangered species – from tiny, brightly coloured amphibians, slithery reptiles to hairy tree-dwellers. Look out for the Asian mudskippers skipping their way across the glasshouse, listen for the loud calls of the Goeldi’s monkey in the Amazonian glasshouse, or admire the giant beak of the Channel-billed toucan bouncing from branch to branch.

Get up-close and personal with these spectacular creatures with the keeper experience. Get an exclusive, behind the scenes tour of the facilities and feed your favourite animals from armadillos to turtles and snakes. If you’re feeling brave, then try cockroach handling!
