What is the purpose of visiting the War Years Remembered museum?

War Years Remembered is a war museum and registered charity that is dedicated to protecting, preserving and presenting our heritage relating to the First and Second World Wars.

War Years Remembered was first established in 1994 by David McCallion. The collection covers over 100 years of military and social history during the greatest two wars of the twentieth century, The Great War and The Second World War. The museum has developed over the years, from a not for profit organisation to a registered charity. The final goal at the museum is to find a permanent home and claim registered museum status as well as further develop the museum’s collection of vehicles, medals, personal items & stories, ephemera and photographs.

The museum also holds many unique items and artefacts that cannot be found in any other museum! The dream at the museum is to become a major attraction that will help provide an enjoyable, interesting and educational experience to all of its visitors. As War Years Remembered evolves, so will the collection of items and objects that grows larger with each generous donation from the public!
