Wildlife Tour on Skye

Seeing a golden eagle for the first time is an exceptional experience, but one that is difficult without the help of an experienced wildlife expert who knows the area intimately. David Lambie runs wildlife tours from the comfort of a specially converted 4×4 Mercedes minibus. A very experienced professional ecologist, he has spent many years observing wildlife on Skye. The island is home to golden and white-tailed eagles, red deer, otters and seals – the Skye five! There are chances to see whales and dolphins from the shore too. The tour lasts between 6-7 hours and costs between £90 and-150 per person.

Where can I go on a unique wildlife tour of Skye?

Skyefari offers daytime and evening wildlife tours, with an expert guide to help you get the most out of the experience.

The Golden Eagle is near the top of any bird watcher’s bucket list and Skye with around 30 pairs is a great place to see this majestic bird with a wingspan of 7 feet. White-tailed Eagles are even bigger and the UK’s largest bird of prey. Your guide will help tell them apart!

  • Wildlife Skyefari tours range from £90 to £150 per person
  • Advance booking is essential on all tours
  • The tour lasts between 6-7 hours
